About South Carolina

South Carolina is a destination with history, culture, character, incredible landscapes and terrain, and a definite charm of the South.

South Carolina is the nation’s leading east of the Mississippi River peach manufacturer and shipper. Before being known as the Palmetto State, the Iodine State had been known as South Carolina and emblazoned on its license plates.

South Carolina is a state in the southeast of the U.S. known for its subtropical beaches and swamp like islands of the sea. Coastal Charleston is a historic town, characterized by pastel-colored homes, Old South plantations, and Fort Sumter, where the opening shots of the Civil War were fired. To the north is the Grand Strand, a drive of about 60 miles to the Myrtle Beach.

There’s something for everyone here: stunning sandy beaches; enchanting state parks; golf courses (which, if you’ve never played before, will make you want to take up the game); historic plantations and architecture; some of the best dining options available; and all sorts of attractions and modern entertainment.

The inland towns of South Carolina also offer plenty for visitors. You can discover great culture in Columbia, the state’s capital and largest city, with museums, art galleries, the 170-acre Riverbanks Zoo, Lake Murray (a favorite boat) and the landmark State House that houses the South Carolina legislature.

Camden, South Carolina’s oldest inland city, offers quaint historic homes and some of the best shopping antiquities I’ve found. It also includes a historic site of the Revolutionary War and the location of Camden’s Civil War Battle.

Greenville in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains is a lively, charming community. Over 90 restaurants and pubs are available in the thriving downtown area, many with outdoor dining. One of the most picturesque locations I’ve seen is the beautiful Falls Park on the Reedy River, ideal for a picnic, walk or bike ride. You can start the day in Greenville with a morning walk across the Liberty Bridge and can stop to enjoy the beautiful natural views.

South Carolina does have it all, no matter what you’re looking for in a holiday destination. If you want to take your next break to a spot where you will feel welcome while working on your tanning, bicycling on the beach, playing golf or tennis at top sports clubs, soaking up culture and history, and enjoying some of the best food that the country has to offer–and we are pleased to announce that Galaxy Design is now in your neighborhood with expertise in Window treatments. So, if you want curtains or blinds, you know where to go now!

Why you need Window treatments- Drapes & shades

Your home windows are your outside link, and how you choose to dress them speaks volumes about your style of interior design. For those living in wooded or isolated areas, leaving them uncovered is a sleek, modern look. But it’s not really a choice for those of us who have neighbors, sidewalks and roads just a few steps away.

There are a few important points to consider when shuffling between your favorite designs on the window treatments, drapes & shades or even curtain in the house. The width and overall position of windows in a wall will decide the length and breadth of your curtains. Next comes color choice and with it the right kind of pattern of fabric to match or contrast the decor of the rest of the room.

The curtains, drapes or shades ‘ cut and style also have an important impact, and the choice of plissing, collecting or folding can be used to further highlight the fabric layout and the room’s tone. Whether you choose to use your living room curtains or for bedroom to suit your design’s primary elements or feature them as an accent piece, here at Galaxy design you will find a huge collection o window tratments, drapes blinds and shades at your disposal.

A perfect way to make such an interesting choice of design for a set of windows would be to choose from our vast window treatment packages with a flat background or to add accent to over crowded room to make it stand out in the best way, we have it all at Galaxy Design.

There are plenty of window treatments, drapes, cblinds & curtain ideas to inspire your own model with this mix of modern trends and retro touches in your home. You can style them big and bright or sweet and dreamy, but most importantly, you can choose what you love to make your home’s most important room.

Winodw Treatment classification

Window treatments are classified into three categories:

  • Hard window treatments are made of hard materials such as wood or vinyl. Such as: shades, shutters and blinds.
  • Soft window treatments: all made from soft materials like: sheers, curtains, drapes, swags, valances, roman shades-from flat to hobbled designs.
  • A combination of both is called a treatment with a layered window.

Drapery Also known as curtains, an elegant, casual or sophisticated look can be produced. Can draw across the rod or remain on either side of the window or on both sides. Curtains from Galaxy design come in a variety of shapes, materials, sizes, colors and patterns, and often have their own sections in department stores, while some shops are entirely dedicated to the sale of curtains. Curtains vary by cleanability, deterioration of ultraviolet light, retention of oil and dust, noise absorption, fire resistance, and lifespan. Galaxy Design Curtains can be moved by hand, by cords, by pads with press buttons or by remote controlled computers. The calculation of the curtain sizes needed for each window varies widely.

Sheer Curtains (Net Curtains) One that is made of transparent (sheer) fabric is a sheer or net curtain. A fabric’s sheerness is represented in three main features (extremely rare, very small, barely visible). Gossamer, silk, rayon, or nylon are the materials that can be made translucent. Galaxy Design Sheer fabric comes in a wide variety of colors but is popular with white curtains and white shades such as cream, winter white, eggshell, and ivory. They are sometimes referred to as curtains of privacy; they allow you to see from the inside out during the day while preventing people from seeing directly into the space outside.
